Norman Abbott, Aged 92 Passes Away
Had been married for 70 years – was native of Ohio Norman Abbott passed away at his home five miles southeast of this city yesterday afternoon at the age of 92 years. He has been a resident of this county for 27 years. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.
The deceased is survived by his wife and seven children. Mrs. Abbott is 88 years of age and she and Mr. Abbott have been married for 70 years and have been looking forward to celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary. Their Children are W.T. Abbott of Oklahoma, Mrs. L.M. Marfield of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. R.S. Leitzke of Dinuba, Mrs. Erma Leitzke of Turlock, and Mrs. J.N. Abbott, Mrs. C.F. Fuller and Rufus Abbott of this city.
Mr. Abbott was born in Ohio in 1825 and sometime later moved to Illinois. From there he moved to Council Bluffs Iowa, and in 1851 he and his wife moved to Neola, Iowa where they resided until coming to this county. They lived at the same place, five and one half miles southeast of here for the past 27 years.
The funeral arrangements will be made today. The interment will be in the Hanford Cemetery.
