Georgie Patrecia Zett, age 86, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 21, 2012, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Mrs. Zett was born on February 21, 1926, in Willow, Oklahoma to John Charles and Annie Bea (Postulka) Babek. With her mother becoming very ill, during her junior year at Lake Creek, she dropped out to care for her mother. At the end of World War II, she met Frank Zett, Jr., and they were married on January 24, 1951, in Sayre. They spent twenty-five wonderful years together before Frank's untimely death on October 10, 1976. After their marriage, they established their home East of Mangum, on the farm. After Frank's death, Georgie moved to Mangum, where she lived until her death. A homemaker all of her life, Georgie enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, reading and spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one brother, Laddie Babek, she is survived by two daughters, Pat Fite and husband Louis of Mangum and Janice Randolph and husband Randy of Quanah; three grandchildren, David Fite and wife Candy of Mangum, Megan O'Briant and husband Rhett of Yukon and Jacie Randolph of Quanah, Texas; one great grandson, Rigley Fite; one sister, Irene Ferda and husband Rudy of Medford, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Roxie Babek of Elk City, Oklahoma along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Georgie Zett will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
