Son of Lawrence (Bud) Worden and Bessie (Worden) Mertins; husband of Bobbi Jo Worden

"NEWTON, KANSAS-DONALD I. WORDEN; Donald I. Worden, 44 of Newton, KS and formerly of Morris was called to his Heavenly home from Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, KS on November 12, 2010. Donald was born October 11, 1966 in Oneonta, the son of Lawrence (Bud) Worden and Bessie (Worden) Mertins. He graduated from Morris Central School in 1986 and then served his country in the United States Army. He was formerly a long haul driver , auto mechanic and had had other various occupations. At the time of his death, he was enrolled at Wichita Technical Institute in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology in which he had completed 2 quarters of training with and average of 93% and perfect attendance. A celebration of life was held at the American Legion in Newton, KS on November 16, 2010. He is survived by his wife Bobbi Jo of Newton, KS, a son Zachary and a daughter Bethany at home, a daughter Bretta and granddaughter Bianca of Sidney Center, a son Larry serving in the U.S. Navy, a son Jeremiah of Oneonta. He is also survived by his mother Bessie (Worden) Mertins and husband Richard of Morris, his brothers Charles Worden and wife Kimberly of Cherry Valley, Michael Worden and wife Tammy Jo of Otego, and his favorite great aunt Christie Stewart of Richfield Springs. He is also survived by numerous Aunts, uncles, Nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins from Kansas, Texas and New York. He was predeceased by his father Lawrence (Bud) Worden and his paternal and maternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to one’s favorite charity in his memory ... Interment will follow in Hillington Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris."
