MRS. EVA DYER
Mrs. Eva Dyer, daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Gilbert, was born in Adams county, Iowa, Jan. 30, 1886, and departed this life, June 25, 1957, at the Yocom hospital, following a lengthy illness, at the age of 71 years, four months and 26 days.
She was united in marriage to Walter I. Dyer, Aug. 20, 1905, and to this union six children were born: Mrs. Donald Cramer of LaPorte, Ind.; Mrs. John Oswalt and Mrs. Carl Nichols, both of Michigan City, Ind.; and Mrs. John Johnston, of Chariton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two infant sons, two brothers, Noland and Ralph Gilbert, and one sister, Fannie Gilbert.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her four daughters, one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Symonds, of Sturgis, S. Dak.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
She has been a member of the Assembly of God church for a number of years and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, 1957, at the Beardsley Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. J. Meeks officiating. Interment was made at the Confidence cemetery.
