Homer R. Blackney, son of C.A. and Anna
J. Blackney was born on a farm north of Home
City, Kansas on March 2, 1890 and passed
away April 27, 1961 at the age of 71 years
1 month and 25 days.

He moved to the Frankfort community at the
age of seventeen and was engaged in farming
until 1945 when they moved to Vliets Kansas
and later to Frankfort, Kansas.

On February 5, 1908, he was united in
marriage to Helen Oswald. Three children
came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Blackney
one of who preceded him in death a son,
Lloyd.

Survivors include his wife Helen of the home;
Kenneth Blackney, Frankfort, Kansas, and
Violet Bowhay, Topeka, Kansas; one sister
Mrs. Myrtle Barnes, Frankfort, Kansas; two
grandchildren, and three great grandchildren
and several other relatives.

Homer was a good neighbor and possessed a
friendly disposition and had a large number
of friends.

Christian Science services were held at the
Padden Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. on
Saturday, April 29, 1961.

Pallbearers were Sidney and Homer Drennen,
Kenneth Hopper, Glen Behrens, Earl Black-
ney, Emil Dalquest.

Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
