Gertrude L. Snyder, 90, of Bellevue, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. She was born, May 27, 1922, in Reed, Ohio, to Anthony and Lena (Scherley) Stockmaster.
She married Arthur Snyder on July 7, 1952, in Clyde. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Gertrude was a homemaker, and a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, where she assisted with many funeral luncheons. She was also a member of Four County Young at Heart where she enjoyed playing cards. She loved gardening, preserving food, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Herman (Mary J.) Below, of Bellevue; daughters, Linda (Richard) Bollenbacher, of Bellevue, and Nancy Short, of Norwalk; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Lou Below; her parents; three brothers, William, Leo and Robert Stockmaster; four sisters, Clara Heiler, Esther Heishman, Lillian Durst, Pauline Raifsnider; and a son-in-law, James Short.
Friends will be received 2-7 p.m. Sunday Nov. 25, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
