Mrs. Joseph Astling (Anna Lawrence) received the news of the death of her sister Mrs. Sarah (Robinson) Hayes which occurred this Tuesday morning, at 5:30 o'clock in Detroit, Mich. (February 23, 1931). Her death was due to a severe attack of bronchitis and she had been ill only a week.
Mrs. Hayes was born in New Wortly, Leeds, England, 60 years ago (About 1871). Upon the death of her husband which occurred about ten years ago, Mrs. Hayes came to Sycamore to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Joseph Astling. While in Sycamore Mrs. Hayes made many friends because she was the type of women who everybody loved upon becoming acquainted with her. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church and she was a true Christian women.
A short time ago, Mrs. Hayes moved to Detroit to make her home with her sister Mrs. Elizabeth (Bannister or Barrister)Armitage, where her death occurred this morning.
Besides her two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Astling of this city and Mrs. Armitage of Detroit, she leaves to morn her death three brothers in England (William, Samuel and Issac Lawrence) and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral and burial will be held in Detroit Friday afternoon.
