Robert "Bob" P. Moorman, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away Oct.29, 2012. He was born on July 28, 1924 to Robert and Gladys (nee Shuey) Moorman of Wessington Springs, SD.

Bob was raised on a ranch in South Dakota and spent the first 8 years of school in a one room rural school. After graduation from high school he served in the Navy Air Corp in World War II, returning to finish college at the end of the war.

His background includes 10 years on the staff at the University of Tennessee, farm and feed lot management, agriculture representative with First National Bank of Memphis, recall estate sales and loans as a partner in Northern Land Co, Huron, SD and Eli Lilly & Co. Indianapolis, IN. Bob retired after 20 years with Eli Lilly & Co. He was Assistant Treasurer of Elanco Products Co, The Agriculture Sales division.

Bob was associated with development and presentation of education programs. These programs included topics on agriculture finance and communications. He presented these programs to Elanco sales personnel, customers and national agriculture meetings in United States and Canada.

After retirement, Bob presented programs on communications and personal finance. The programs included seminars, workshop and training for staff of several Indiana State Development Centers, Teachers of Lawrence township school system, Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis, University of Indianapolis, Anthony Wayne Services and various other organizations.

In addition he has been a volunteer for the Society of St. Vincent DePaul Archdiocesan Council of Indianapolis. His duties included Chairman of Financial operations and member of governing council.

He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic church where he served as Chairman of Finance and Education committees and as hospitality and Eucharistic minister.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Eileen Moorman whom he married Aug. 11, 1947; 9 children, 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rylan Moorman.
