OBITUARY
JUDGE HUGH T. BAY
Died at his home near Mill Green, Harford county, on Thursday, July 8, 1915, aged 67 years. His death was due to hardening of the arteries, and heart failure. His funeral took place on Saturday the 10th, services conducted by his pastor, Rev. B. W. Jones, assisted by Revs. Jas M. Wallace and S. L. Irvine. Pallbearers were John Wallace, Archie Wallace, Andrew Wallace, William Cox, Harold Stokes and Elmer H. Ball.
Judge Bay was son of the late William and Elizabeth (McFadden) Bay. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Elizabeth Galbreath, and one brother, Mr. Daniel W. Bay.
Like many others of the best men of the country, he was raised on the farm and attended the public schools, and was always an upright, useful citizen. For 24 years he served his native county in a public capacity - from 1887-1899 as Judge of the Ophans Court, and from 1901-1913 as Register of Wills and in both capacities commanded the respect and confidence of the people. He was a member of Slateville Presbyterian church.
