Larry Ray Porterfield went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 16, 2012. Services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012, 3pm, at Florence United Methodist Church in Florence. Burial will follow at Lawler Cemetery.

Larry was born on April 15, 1952 to Hardy and Marie Porterfield in Austin, Texas. He attended Reagan High School where he met many of his life long friends. He met his beautiful wife, Debbie, at a softball game. They were best friends for over 35 years. Together they had two wonderful children, Russell and Sarah.

He was a master carpenter and worked in the drywall trade building commercial buildings in the Austin area. He later became a general contractor in Georgetown, TX. He built hospitals, schools, and hotels with his career spanning over 30 years.

He was an incredible husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his love for hunting, fishing, and good times with family and friends. In the last month, Larry made life long memories on a fishing trip with his son and grandsons, as well as, deer hunting in East Texas.

He is survived by his parents Hardy and Marie Porterfield, wife, Debbie Porterfield, children, son, Russell Porterfield and wife Christy, daughter Sarah Markell and husband Mike, sister, Linda Brown and husband Richard, and grandchildren Caleb, Joshua, and Connor.
