Services for George Oliver Elliott, Jr., of Hornbeck, will be held Monday, July 30, 2007 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Many with Rev. Ray Leidig officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Jessup Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5:00 pm Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many.

George Oliver Elliott, Jr., age 60, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007 in Highland Schumpert Hospital.

George Oliver Elliott, Jr., was born in Many on October 29, 1946, to Bessie and Oliver Elliott. He attended and graduated from Many High School and Northwestern State University. He went on to serve our country during Vietnam as a member of the United States Marine Corps. After serving in Vietnam, George returned home and joined the Louisiana State Police and retired after 30 years of service at Captain of Troop E. After retiring from the LSP, he began working at Fort Polk with Cubic Applications.

George is survived by his wife of 36 years, Adonna, his daughter, Susan, his son Trey and his wife, Dana. He is also survived by his sister Carole Nett and sister-in-law Towanda Willrodt and her husband Joe; nieces, Heather Toms, Holly Ames, Hillary Sirmon and nephew Don Nett; and great niece and nephews Kristen Claire Toms, Christopher Toms and Christopher Nett.

George was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hornbeck. He loved life and treasured the times he spent with his family and friends.

Pallbearers are Kevin Toms, K.C. Sirmon, Greg Ames, Joe Willrodt, Allen Fullerton, Ted Mims, Don Nett, Clayton Collier, Clyde Chambers and Kim Smith.
