Otto Edward Witzke was born
April 5, 1883 in the province of
Pommern, Germany. He was the
third son of Herman and Ida, nee
Stark, Witzke. In Germany he was
baptizd in the Lutheran Church.
When about 6 years old his parents came to America. The familysettled in Normal, Illinois. After 2years in Illinois, the family came
to Newell, moving on a farm north
of town. Later the family lived east
of Newell.

The deceased received his secular training education in the country public schools of his day. Rev.R. Haindschke instructed him inthe fundamentals of Christian religion. He was confirmed here in Newell.

On June 5, 1914 he was united
in marriage with Ella Marie Porath by Rev. E T. Lochner. Three children were born to this union.
They are Eldon E. , Zelda L. (Mrs
Donald S. Larsen) and Byron E.
of Newell They together with
the mother, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law , 5 grandchildren, mourn
the passingg of the Father. His three
brothers, Henry, August and William,
his three sisterss . Mrs Herman
Hanke and Mrs Warren Kinney all
of Newell and Mrs Hula Misch of
Elsworth Ill. , numerouss nieces and
nephews and a host of friends survive
him. His parents and two
brothers preceded him in death.
He died suddenly on Saturday
morning and attained the age of 63
years, 10 months and 17 days.
