Mrs. Maria Bennett Blakemore aged 74, widow of John Blakemore died at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1 at her home on Prospect street South New Castle Boro, after an illnesss. She was one of the pioneer residents of this city and well known in a wide circle of friends. She was born January 7, 1853 in this city, the daughter of John and Jeannette Fobes Bennett. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church.

She leaves the following daughters and sons: Mrs. Homer Fairbanks, Mrs. Mary Kurtz, Mrs. Lula Lehberger, and Mrs. Verna Welker, all of this city, Russell E. Robinson of Woodlawn, Pa., and James Robinson at home. She also leaves the following sisters, Mrs. Laura Graham and Mrs. Franc Smith of this city and twenty-nine grand children. A brother as sister, as well as her husband preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, Daylight Savings Time, at the Wesleyan Methodist church on Lydal street. Interment will be made in Oak Park cemetery.
