Larry and his mother were living in Buffalo when he enlisted in the Marines.
When Larry arrived in Vietnam 9 December 1968, he was assigned to Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. While on a combat patrol the Marines encountered hostile forces 8 kilometers west of Cam Lo Village. Larry died as a result of gunshot wounds to the body from hostile rifle fire.
Survived by his mother, Lois J Miles of 29 Oneida Street, Buffalo, New York and
his father; Elmer Jones of unknown address.
