On April 13, 1919, the world was introduced to one of the most spirited and strong women as it would ever encounter. As the years passed, time and hard work mixed with love and smiles made Julina Whittaker Jacobson the beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend that she was. On the morning of Monday, November 19, 2012, Julina passed away.

Julina was born to Wilford and Sarah Woolley Davis Whittaker in Salt Lake City, the 4th in a family of 5.

After meeting the love of her life, Sigurd Noel (Sid) Jacobson, at a roller skating rink, they were married on November 9, 1940, and on April 17, 1942, Julina and Sid were sealed in the L.D.S. temple.

Julina's tender nickname, "Sugar," did not originate from the sweet substance that she put in her loved chocolate chip cookies, but from the boxer, Sugar Ray.

An avid Yankees fan, Julina's lifelong dream was to see them play at the Yankees stadium in New York. Though she never got the chance to rattle the cages while they ran bases, she had the opportunity to walk the field, stand on home plate, and sit in the player's dugout. Surely if heaven is truly a place of paradise, Julina will be playing baseball and hopefully going easy on the umps.

She was also a fan of the Utah Jazz and a buyer for Auerbachs.

From 1985-1986, Julina and Sid filled an L.D.S. mission in St. George, Utah.

When Sid passed away on October 26, 1994, Julina was anchored by her family.

In her lifetime, she had 3 daughters: Linda Kay (LeRoy) Rasmussen, JoAnn (John) Barker, and Sydnee Lee Porter, as well as 5 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
