YORKTOWN--Vanessa Ray Greene, 57, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.
Vanessa was born in Livingston, Tennessee on July 27, 1955, the daughter of Howard and Naomi (Delk) West, and was a graduate of Southside High School.
Mrs. Greene was a member of Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church. For many years she conducted Vanessa Greene's Whisper Walk for Cancer research. Vanessa enjoyed crafts, and loved helping others.
Survivors include her husband, Rick Greene, Yorktown; two sons, Christopher Lee Greene (wife-Adrienne) of Yorktown, and Dustin Greene of Muncie; a brother, Mark West (fiancee-Billie Burrows) of Modoc; a sister, Fredis Mercer (husband-Tim) of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Sheila D. Waters.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor James O. McCowan officiating. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery. Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. or one hour prior to time of service on Saturday.
