His brother
Second Lieutenant Henry Elliott Byers
The Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry,
attached to the Royal Flying Corps
died in a flying accident, and was buried at
Grangegorman Military Cemetery, Dublin.


In the 1911 census, the Byers family were living at Everton Avenue, off Ellesmere Avenue, Glasnevin, Dublin.
Present were,
Henry Elliott Byers, aged 50, a Managing Salesman, Sewing Machine Trade, born in Co. Cavan.
Frances Hannah, his wife, aged 43, born in Co. Kildare,
They had been married 24 years and had 12 children, 11 of whom were alive.
Susan Jane, daughter, aged 23,
George Elliott, son, aged 21, a second division clerk, in H.M.C.S. Post Office.
Frances Mary, daughter, aged 19,
Henry Elliott, son, aged 17, a boy clerk, H.M.C.S. Inland Revenue.
Benjamin Elliott, son, aged 15,
Charles Victor, son, aged 13,
Elizabeth May, daughter, aged 11,
Walter Elliott, son, aged 10,
Esther Louisa, daughter, aged 7,
Gertrude Annie, daughter, aged 4,
William Elliott, son, aged 2,

All of the children down to Elizabeth, were born in Co. Kildare.
After her, all were born in Dublin City.
