James M. Steepleton, 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away November 18, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. A visitation is planned for Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with committal services immediately following in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jim was born in October 30th, 1938 in Vinton, Iowa to Mahlon and Frances (Aten) Steepleton. He graduated from Vinton High School. In May 1979, Jim married Bonnie Schueler and they have been married for 33 years. He worked as a mechanic for the city transportation for 35 years.

Jim was survived by [omitted].

He was proceeded in death by his parents, and three siblings, Joyce, Steven, and Jon.

Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed racing cars when he was younger and also liked playing pool. He also very much enjoyed camping with his family.
