Jerry E. "Underdog" Eubanks, age 61, of Palatka, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Malcolm Randall V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville after a sudden illness. He was a native and life long resident of Palatka. He worked for 10 years as a welder with Arc Rite Welding in Palatka and previously worked as a millwright at Georgia Pacific and with PDM. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Bert Hodge Post #45 in Palatka. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Richard Petty.
He is survived by a son, Joseph "Joey" Eubanks and wife, Erika of Palatka; step-children, Brian De Los Santos of Florahome and Sabrina Donahue, of
Interlachen; sisters, Sara Lane of Palatka and Doreen Patridge of Dade City; 7 grandchildren, Joseph P. Eubanks, John Henry Eubanks, Ashton Kyler De Los Santos, Zachary De Los Santos, Brice Champion De Los Santos, Seth Cameron Donahue, and Chloe Leanne Donahue; special friend, Bonnie Eubanks-Everton of Palatka and special nephew, Laine "Needlefingers" Rowland of East Palatka.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 20th at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Rev. Glenn Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill East Cemetery with the U.S. Army conducting military honors. Friends may call Saturday from Noon to 2:00 P.M. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. In celebration of his life a memorial video will be shown, In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to help the family with expenses to: Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, 307 S.
