Jerry Lee Angstead, 64, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Fairfield, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa.
According to his wishes, his body will be cremated and no funeral will be held.
Mr. Angstead was born Dec. 7, 1937, in Fairfield, the son of Carl H. (Bunk) and Zelma B. Wise Angstead. He married Patricia Canny Dec. 31, 1957, in Ottumwa. They were later divorced. He later married Dixie Darling of Fairfield. She is deceased. He married Noretta Lynne Kelly June 22, 1991, in Fairfield.
He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1956. He was baptized at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fairfield. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years before his retirement. After returning to Fairfield, he worked at the Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of both organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Nori; two sons, Douglas and Daniel Angstead; one daughter, Debbie Whitehead and her husband David; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jo Ann Johnson and her husband Keith.
