-m-2-27-1897 Raleigh F Hart
d/o Edwin & Anna "Ford" Sharp

Mrs Rollie Hart, aged 51 years, died Friday afternoon, July 5, 1929, at her home in this city. She had been suffering with a nervous trouble for the past thirty years. At times she apparently would overcome her trouble, but at other periods, she would become melancholy & worry over her conditions. On Friday she prepared a noonday meal as usual & after dinner she had arranged to wash her dishes, but it seems that she was seized with one of her periodical attacks & she went to a local drug store & secured a quantity of Lysol & carbolic acid. She returned to the house & drank the Lysol. A few minutes later Mr Hart found his wife in a dazed condition. He quickly summoned a physician, but nothing could be done to save her life. Mrs Hart had been in the habit of buying Lysol & carbolic acid at the local drug stores to be used as a disinfectant at the jail & nothing was thought of letting her have these poisons.
Mrs Hart was the daughter of the late Edwin & Anna Sharp & was born near Mt Zion, this county, May 16, 1878. She was united in marriage to Rollie Hart in 1898 & to this union four children was born. The first child died in infancy, & Mrs Hart’s nervous trouble dates from that time, as she was greatly affected by the loss of her baby. Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Mrs A R Lancaster of this city, Miss Alice Hart of Cincinnati, & Robert Hart at home. She is also survived by two brothers & two sister, Simeon Sharp of Ft Collins, Colo, Lawrence Sharp, Mrs Ida Wilson, & Mrs Birdie Barr, all of Lexington. Mrs Hart was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church for many years & a splendid Christian woman, wife, & mother. She came to this city with her husband from Concord eight years ago when he was elected jailer & during her stay here made many friends. She was a woman of many fine virtues & took much pride in her home. During the past several months, Mrs Hart seemed to overcome her trouble & was out a great deal with her husband in their automobile. Her husband & children were always ready to administer to their mother & restore her to permanent health.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church by her former pastor, Rev W M Lenox, who paid a loving tribute to the deceased. Burial took place in Walnut grove Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Judge Early Cummins, Tom C Bradford, Charles E Ashcraft, J L Bradford, Charles Ravenscraft, & J W Wright. The flower-bearers were: Mrs A T Shafer, Mrs C F Crecelius, Mrs Mattie Fossett, Mrs J J Austin, Mrs William Cullun, Mrs Finnell Fryer, Mrs F M Norton, & Miss Kate Barker.
