Cynthia Linton

Cynthia Sue "Cindy" Linton, 43, of 355 Northlake Dr., Vincent died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 22, 1959, in South Charleston, W.Va., to James William "Bill" and Charmaine Wilcoxon Bolden. She had lived in this area for 19 years. She was currently a fourth-grade teacher at Eastern Elementary School and for 21 years had taught reading, kindergarten and fourth grade. She was a member of Veto Presbyterian Church and had taught Sunday School there for many years. She was a 1977 graduate of Warren High School and a 1981 graduate of Ohio University. She was a Jennings Scholar at Ohio University. Cindy was named 2002 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year with recognition at both the Vienna and Marietta stores. She was loved by everyone. She had a great love for the track and cross-county teams. Cindy was a member of the Eastern Local Education Association.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Linton, whom she married on June 23, 1982; her father and his wife, Kristin of Leesburg, Fla.; one son, Jason Linton, a freshman at Ohio University; and one daughter, Missy, a senior at Warren High School; two brothers, James W. Bolden Jr. and his wife Janie of Little Hocking and Bruce Bolden and his wife Christel of Little Hocking; his in-laws, John and Bettie Linton of Belpre; five nieces and nephews; and one uncle, Jack Wilcoxon and his wife Lana of Charlotte, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, Pastor Robin Swinsburg officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
