Daughter of William Amanda & Mary Ellen (Glenn) Smith. They were both born in Texas, he in Nov. 1862 and she in May 1869. He was a hay and grian dealer. Willie married Colonel Walter William Hodge on Aug. 20, 1934.

Willie Smith Hodge Drake died at age 90 in Scottsdale. She moved to Arizona in 1911 and lived in Hayden, Phoenix, Tucson, Portal and Douglas. She had two children with Colonel Walter Hodge Sr., Walter "Herky" and Judith Hodge. Walter was with the US Corps of Engineers and was in charge of the building of the ALCAN highway. He died in a plane crash on Mount Hood Oregon, while on duty in 1949. Both Walter Sr and Jr were graduates of West Point and Walter Jr was a Ranger serving three tours in Viet Nam. Judy was a teacher after graduating from the University of Arizona where she was a cheerleader.

After her two children were "out of the nest" she married a Doctor Drake from Missouri, living there until his death. She then moved to the Phoenix area to be near her daughter.
