Green's Fork, Wayne Co., Indiana; Lodge, No. 184, I.O.O.F. was instituted Feb. 25, 1857, with the following named persons as the first officers: Calvin Connor, V.G. and then others listed.
Calvin Conner was a carpenter and bridge builder, who later moved to Galveston, IN. He built most of the bridges on the Richmond and Logansport Railroad. The railroad connecting toward Chicago was completed after 1853. So it could be that Calvin Conner "worked" his way to Logansport as the railroad was build and settled there after the railroad was completed.
Although it appears that Calvin died in Cass County, IN; the record of the date of his death, or burial location has not been found.
