The Papillon is perhaps the farthest thing from a "working dog." A glamorous lap dog, the Papillon has graced the laps of European royals for centuries. However, all royal dogs must have royal manners, making this breed one of the easiest to train and most obedient.

Our beautiful Tazzy

This was my dad's dog. This picture is also on a dog food bag.

This dog gave her life to save my father in a house fire two years ago. I am forever grateful for her bravery and loyalty.

Through her persistence she woke us to a catastrophic fire. Being deeply asleep and not knowing that the whole attic and back wall of the house were on fire, we had both tried to get her to be quiet and settle down. She wouldn't have any part of that and kept on bugging us until we awoke.

Not realizing how huge the fire already was, we ran down the hallway looking for a fire exit. Seconds later I realized the house was a goner and turned to go back to the bedroom to get Tazzy and BeeGee and it was too late. The windows had exploded and the bedroom was gone along with our babies.
