James [sic] died of liver cancer ... at the Winnebago Co Home and was buried at the County Farm Cemetery on 8 May 1936 by Konrad Undertaking Company. He was a widowed white male, a butcher, poor, 85 years old and born 21 June 1852 in WI. ...

In the 1930 Census, he was a lodger in the Louis Rasmussen home [in Oshkosh]. He is widowed, a retired butcher, 77 years old and born in DePere, WI.

The World Family Tree states that Josiah died on 16 Mar 1936 and was part of the Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West Show and that he could possibly be buried at Boyd Cemetery.

In 1898-99 Bunn's Oshkosh City Directory, Josiah is residing at 240 - 12th St, Oshkosh.
