John B Schrock

John B Schrock, son of Mr and Mrs Christ Schrock, was born in Roanoke, Ill., March 15, 1889, and passed away to the great beyond on August 5, 1934.

With his parents, the departed moved to Kansas in 1892 where they lived ten years. After this they took up their abode in Vernon county (sic), Mo., and after five years moved to Shickley, Nebraska.

May 15, 1915, Mr Schrock was united in marriage to Pearl Rose Walter of Shickley, a faithful companion, who shared the joys and vicissitudes of their nineteen years of matrimonial life. Four children were born to this union, Donald Erwin, now 15 years of age; Forest Marvin, 13; Inez Wilma, 11; and Opal Rose, 4.

John Schrock, with his family lived at the following places, successively; south of Ong, north of Ong, near Clay Center, near Edgar and about five years ago they moved to where the family now resides, fives miles northwest of Ong.

The departed was reared in a Christian home and also received Christian instruction in the Mennonite church of which his parents were members.

For several weeks the health of Mr Schrock has been failing very noticeably. It was soon obvious, that a doctor must be consulted, which was done. Following the doctor's advice he was taken to a hospital in Omaha on Wednesday, August 1, for a thorough examination and medical treatment. It soon became evident that his ailment had so far advanced that nothing could be done to check it and on the following Sunday afternoon the summons came.
