FRED HALE, 79, DIES ON THURSDAY
--
..Last rites for Fred Hale, 79, were held at the Mortmore chapel here last Saturday morning with burial in Monument Hill cemetery.
..Hale, a retired construction worker, died last Thursday, May 11, at Memorial hospital after being ill a short time.
..Born Oct. 23, 1881, in Burton county, Kansas, the son of Dudley Nelson Hale and Kathrine Day Hale, He grew up in Readstown, Wisc., and came to Wyoming in 1905.
..Hale worked on the first Boysen dam and returned to Wisconsin in 1909 where he married Ina Etta Boyer at Viroqua on Dec.21, 1909.
..The couple returned to Wyoming in January of 1910 and came to Thermopolis in the Early spring of that year where they lived for the next 51 years.
..Hale, a member of the IOOF, worked in the cement and plumbing business here and held the position of water commissioner and law enforcement officer.
..He later worked for C.M. Smith, general contractor, until his retirement about five years ago.
..Hale was preceded in death by his wife who died May 18 here, a son, Ronald, who died nine years ago and an infant daughter who died in 1916.
..He is survived by one daughter, ..., five grandchildren and three great grandsons, two brothers, Elmo and Roy hale of Tehama, Calif., and Viroqua, Wisc., and a sister, Mrs. Irene Aldrich, Virgil, S.D., and nieces and nephews.
