Delbert Casper Beaver
Thermopolis – Funeral services for Delbert Casper Beaver, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mortimore Funeral Home with the Rev. William Caspers officiating.
Burial will follow in Monument Hill Cemetery.
He died Feb. 5, 1999, in Thermopolis.
He was born Oct. 6, 1906, in Ennis, Mont., the son of Adelbert and Libby Arthur Beaver. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Emil Skrdlant.
He worked as a longshoreman in the state of Washington in the late 1920s and 1930s.
In the late 1930s, he settled for a period of time in the Jackson area, then moved to Hot Springs County.
He married Mary Ann Lorenz in Thermopolis on Dec. 4, 1937. They lived in the Owl Creek area and raised horses. He was also a trapper most of his life.
In 1950-51, he operated a saw mill. After retirement, they moved to Thermopolis in the early 1980s.
He loved the outdoors, fishing gardening, trapping and camping.
In his younger years, he was an extra in a John Wayne movie.
He is survived by his wife.
