The son of Frederick Alexander "Fred" Kohlmiller and Harriet Marie "Hattie" Lincoln, "Leo" married Eleanora Katharine Wilhelmina Huebner on 22 Apr 1926 in Oldenburg, Illinois. They were the parents of 2 children.

Leo worked for the Mobil Oil Refinery in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was a night superintendent when he retired.

He was a long-time member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Wood River, Illinois.

Leo died at Alton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. At the time of his death, he was 81 years, 11 months and 29 days old.

He was survived by 2 daughters, Eleanor Kohlmiller of Wood River, Illinois, and Shelby Kibler of East Alton, Illinois; 1 grandson; and 1 sister, Viola Stinson of Roseville, Michigan.

In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanora, in 1978.

Visitation was held on 15 Aug 1985 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, Illinois. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. the following morning at St. John's United Church of Christ in Wood River. He was buried on what would have been his 82nd birthday.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the church.
