The daughter of Alonzo Saville and Rena Dry, Mildred married Ernest Edward Crane, Sr. on 05 Aug 1933 in Alton, Madison County, Illinois. They were the parents of 4 children.

Mildred worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Works during World War II. She was a certified nurse assistant at St. Joseph's Hospital. Ernest was a self-employed carpenter.

Mildred cared for more than 60 foster children over the years. She was a member of Women of the Moose 1349 in Wood River, Illinois.

Ernest died in 1972.

Children from first marriage: 3 sons, 1 daughter.

Mildred retired from St. Joseph's in 1984 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Edwardsville and Bethalto, Illinois.

Mildred married Harold "Jack" Jackson on 10 Apr 1986 in Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois. His second wife died in 1985, and he was the father of 2 children from his first marriage.

Jack passed away on 18 Jun 1987. He was buried at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton, Jersey County, Illinois.

Children from second marriage: 2 step-daughters.

At the time of her death at St. Anthony's Hospital, Mildred was 84 years, 10 months and 21 days old. She was survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Gary Teasley, of Huntsville, Alabama; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Debra Crane, of Godfrey, Illinois; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Esther Flick of Bethalto; and 1 brother, Eugene Saville of Alton.

In addition to both of her husbands, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Ernest Edward Crane, Jr. and Gary Gene Crane; 2 brothers, Harry and David Saville; and 3 sisters, Thelma Bell, Lillian Saville and Gladys Saville.

Visitation was held on 07 Oct 2001 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, Illinois. Funeral services were conducted there at 10 a.m. the following morning. She was buried next to her first husband, Ernest.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the Senior Citizens of Edwardsville, Bethalto Senior Citizens or to Wanda United Methodist Church.
