Judy was the infant daughter of Virgil "Wayne" Hurst, Sr. and Virginia Mae Duncan. The baby was born at 10:30 p.m. on 09 Aug 1946 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton, Madison County, Illinois. Her family lived at 422 Doerr Avenue in Roxana, Illinois.
Judy died the following morning at the hospital.
She was survived by her mother and father; 1 brother, Mickey Hurst; her paternal grandmother, Effie Hurst; her maternal grandmother, Naomi Duncan; 1 great-grandfather, Sidney Treece of Portageville, Missouri; and extended family members.
A brief service took place at Streeper Funeral Home in Alton on 11 Aug 1946. Burial rites were then conducted graveside at 3:30 p.m. that afternoon and were officiated by Reverend W. F. Bohn, the pastor of the First Baptist Church in East Alton, Illinois.
A younger sister, Carla, was born almost exactly 2 years later. The family then moved to Perrysburg, Ohio.
