Mrs. Peggy Ayers, 77, of LaGrange died Thursday.

Mrs. Ayers, born Sept. 28, 1925, in Far Rockaway, N.Y., was the daughter of the late Bert L. and Margaret E. Metzger. She had lived her for more than 50 years and retired from The Mill Store. She taught Sunday school and was a member of Southwest LaGrange Baptist Church for 45 years.

Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Barbara A. and Jesse M. Bookhardt of Marietta; two sons and daughters - in - law, Alan G. and Sandra B. Ayers of Jackson and David C. and Cathy J. Ayers of Flowery Branch; a brother, Bert A. Metzger of Far Rockaway, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, six great - granddaughters; a niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Buren Ayers Jr.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with the Revs. Fred Buchanan and John Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
