She was born July 12, 1951 in Connersville and was the daughter of Charles E. and Pearl I. Rinehart. In 1969, she graduated from Connersville High School and was married to Raymond E. Ray on August 26, 1972. In 1997, she became a Dean's List student and honor graduate at Ivy Tech, fulfilling her life-long dream of becoming a nurse. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had been employed at Marsh, IGA, Curves and area nursing homes. As an avid bowler, Debbie was an active member of the WIBC and had served as secretary of local leagues. She loved to work the most difficult crossword puzzles, ride motorcycles with her husband and give away the many pieces she crocheted. Her grandchildren brought her much joy and she was dedicated to her chihuahua, Chloe. Debbie is still in our hearts and is now in heaven with her Dad.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 37 years, Raymond; two daughters and their spouses: Lisa Jeneane Frasher and Matthew, Angela Dawn Nichols and Allen, all of Connersville; six grandchildren: Seaira Dawn Harris, Calvin Ray and Cymantha Jeneane Caplinger, Ashlie, Amber and Adam Frasher; a sister: Juanita Roberts of Fayette County.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an uncle, Robert Rinehart.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Dr. James Gay of Connersville officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of service.
