He was born Dec. 28, 1920, in Trevorton, a son of the late Jacob and Mary (Lepucki) Deroba. He was a lifetime resident of Trevorton. On April 24, 1954, in St. Patrick Church, Trevorton, he married the former Catherine T. Braubitz, who survives.
He attended Trevorton schools and served in the Army during World War II with Company C, 2nd Signal Battalion, from February 1943 to December 1945.
Tom was a coal miner and last was employed as a dock worker for Consolidated Freightways.
He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Trevorton, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 764.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Francis and Holly Deroba of Boiling Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Maryanne and Lance Arnold of Newport; four grandchildren, Ethan, Alex and Connor Deroba and Tim Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Adam, John, Tony and Joe Deroba, and three sisters, Josephine Coveleski, Agnes Schmura and Sophie Taglieri.
A visitation with the family will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Church, 331 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, where a memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 with the Rev. Adrian Gallagher officiating.
Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Trevorton.
