Anna May (Bieber) Deakin, 83, passed away Wednesday evening, December 3, 2008, at the home of her daughter, Arda. Mrs. Deakin was a native of Binghamton and Colesville all her life and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Susquehanna, Pa. She was an avid gardener. She had a real passion for growing things. Mrs. Deakin was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred J. Bieber; and by her second husband, Myron R. Deakin. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Arthur and Ralph Pratt; and two sisters, Nellie Hurlburt and Helen Harrison. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Arda and Donald Tanner, Windsor, N.Y.; and son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Donna S. Bieber, Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Dorothy L. Phillips, Hallstead, Pa.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, 150 Main St., Johnson City, Monday at 11 a.m. President David Hansen of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Susquehanna, Pa. will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
