Jackie Ray Murray, age 25, passed away Nov. 13, 2012 at his home in Roosevelt.

Jackie was born to Cleveland T. Murray and Molly Penny Chapoose Duncan.

Jackie enjoyed going to the mountains, hunting, fishing, playing softball, basketball, and volleyball. He loved his family, especially his children, competing and spending time with his brothers, attending the pow wow, and chauffeuring his gramps around. He was a good friend and had many friends throughout the community.

He is survived by his companion, Leah Taveapont, children, Peyton and Deon Murray, step-son Blaine Cuch, parents Penny (Baldwin) Duncan, Roosevelt; Cleveland (Brandi) Murray, Neola; grandparents, Clarice Chapoose, Yellowstone Subdivision; James Murray, Alterra; siblings, Lona (Robert) Johnson, Whiterocks Road; Lonnie (Iktoma) Favel, Yellowstone Subdivision; Nina (Lex Jenkins) Murray, Roosevelt; Bradley James Murray, Shaycee Jean Murray, both of Neola; and numerous family and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Chapoose, Marilyn Murray, uncle Willy James Chapoose and his great grandparents.

Funeral services were held Nov. 17 at the Ft. Duchesne Gym. A wake was held on Friday evening after 4 p.m. at his father Cleveland's home in Ft. Duchesne.

Burial in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
