Rita Mae Goodenough 77 years of Fremont passed away into the arms of our Heavenly Father Saturday November 17, 2012 at Edgewood Vista in Fremont to reunite with her husband Danye Goodenough who passed away June 10, 2000. Rita was born July 14, 1935 in West Point, NE to Edwin John and Veronica Marie (Malloy) Bleyhl. Her childhood years were spent in Snyder, Fremont, Omaha and Hastings, NE. She attended Central High School in Omaha and graduated in 1953 from Hastings Senior High. She was employed at Chubbyville Restaurant in Hastings which was a family business. She was also employed at Geyerman's Women's Ready To Wear store in Hastings as a bookkeeper.

She married Danye R. Goodenough on October 26, 1954 and to this union were born two daughters, Cynthia and Lorie. In 1957 she came to Fremont and was employed at Campbell Soup Co and Bowers NAPA Motor Supply as their bookkeeper. She also was an Avon Dealer and operated her own craft and ceramic business all in Fremont.

Rita had a wonderful life and her greatest joy was her children Lorie Goodenough and Cynthia Miller. Her foremost passion was being a wife, mother, sister and aunt. Her hobbies included ceramics, crafts, sewing, knitting, crotchet and cooking. She cherished her friendships and was a lifelong member of the Birthday Club. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont and was active on various committees and had a strong faith and love of Jesus.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Cynthia Miller of Albuquerque, NM and Lorie Goodenough of Fremont; her sister and best friend, Marilyn Schneider and husband Ben of Hastings, NE and nieces and nephews, Becky Buhr and husband Dan, Jeffery Nitzel and wife Delray and Angela Gage and husband Brian; 14 great and 22 great great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their grateful thanks to the staff from Odyssey Hospice and Edgewood Vista that made Rita's last days comfortable with their excellent care.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at Church of the Nazarene in Fremont. The Rev. Tom Shaw will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-8 P.M with the family receiving friends from 6-7 P.M. Prayer service will follow at 7:00 P.M. all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue on Wed. 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials may be given to Church of the Nazarene in Fremont.
