Mr. Carey was employed by the Oscar Mayer Co. in the meat processing department for many years, and retired in 1967. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Mr. Carey married the former Lucille Stanton on July 10, 1935. She preceded him in death in July, 1952. He then married the former Pearl Verthein Huemmer on May 3, 1958.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Lee Carey, of West Palm Beach, Florida, a step-son, John G. Huemmer and a step-daughter, Mrs Phillip (Kathryn) Hahn of Madison, two grandchildren, and eight step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Simon, Leonard, Gerald, and Elmer, and four sisters, Sister Medie, Catherine, Bernice, and Grace Reirs. Funeral services will be held at ST. BERNARD'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Avenue, at 9:30 A.M. on Wenesday, October 3, Bishop George O. Wirz will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 North Sherman Avenue, from 5-9 P.M. on Tuesday, October 2, where a scripture service will be recited at 8 P.M.
