Wife of John Bird is Esther Ely (18 Jan 1787 - 14 Oct 1844). Information provided by her grandson-William Clinton Talmage(Born 24 Jan 1855 in Morrow County, OH) in his SAR application. William is the son of Sarah Bird-Talmage(1821-1897).

Note: the headstone is shattered and was in a pile (first photo). The GAR marker does not belong to John Bird. He does not show up in military records, but was in Franklin Twp, Knox County by 1840 (in 1848 it became Morrow County).
