A Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, June 19 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Marinette for Cecile E. Marbes, 94, of Marinette, WI. She passed away Saturday, June 16 at her home. Rev. William Swichtenberg officiated and burial was in Forest Home Cemetery. She was born on Feb. 12, 1913 in Marinette to the late John and Emma (Hebert) Marineau.

She attended area schools and worked at St. Joseph's Church for many years.

She married Richard Marbes on May 21, 1932 at St. Joseph's Church in Marinette. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church, which is now Holy Family Parish, Holy Family Altar Society and the former Mission Ladies.

Her husband of 75 years survives;
four sons: Kenneth (June) of Chicago, IL; Thomas (Mary) of Lakeland, FL; Donald (Donna) of Menominee, MI and David (Linda) of Marinette, WI;
three daughters: Mrs. Roger (Lois) Kniskern of Crivitz, WI; Mrs. Gene (Annette) Francour of Menominee, MI and Mrs. John (Kathleen) Lord of Richland Center, WI;
27 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren;
a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Marbes
and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, a great-grandson, Joseph Beyer and a son-in-law, Lynn Ruggles [daughter Kathleen's 1st husband].
