Bernice "Bernie" Talton Ragsdale, age 92, of Asheboro died Monday, November 19, 2012 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.

Mr. Ragsdale was a native of Randolph County and served in Germany in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for Glenn Martin in Baltimore, MD and had a long and distinguished career with Dunn & Bradstreet. Mr. Ragsdale was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Dodson Ragsdale and sisters, Ethylene Charnock and Daisy Ragsdale Vestal.

He is survived by his sisters, Faedene Maness of Asheboro, Cleta Mae Kearns of Asheboro; brother, Delbert G. Ragsdale, Sr. of Asheboro; nieces, Earlene Ward and her husband Walter of Asheboro, Sabrina Schumaker and her husband David of Jamestown, Debbie Maness of Asheboro; nephews, Neale Kearns and his wife Elaine of Asheboro, John Kearns and his wife Dean of Asheboro, D. Gordon Ragsdale, Jr. and his wife Julie of Raeford, Philip Ragsdale and his wife Jane of Raeford.

A graveside service with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be held Friday, November 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Browers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1030 Browers Chapel Road, Asheboro, with Rev. David Spaulding officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Memorials may be made to Browers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 1663 Plantation Circle, Asheboro, NC 27205.
