Funeral services will be held at 3pm Friday, September 23, 2011 at the WT Wilson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Graham and Rev. Jeff Mann officiating. Burial will follow at Whitton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9pm on Thursday, September 23, 2011 at the WT Wilson Funeral Home.
Gay was the youngest of three children of Mary Nell and Aulton Hope. She grew up in Geraldine and married and later had two daughters. Holley and Kelley loved her dearly. She was blessed four grandchildren, Casey, Tyler, Garrett, and Justin. They were the light of her life. She also had two wonderful sons-in-law, Chris and Steve. As well as many much loved nieces and nephews. Gay had many hardships in her life including a decade long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis, but she was an inspiration to all who knew her for her courage, strength, and sheer stubbornness. She will be missed dearly by her sister Dianne and brother-in-law Jerry, and close friends Vernette, Barbra, and Billie Sue. Her Spirit and her bright and shinning smile will live forever in our hearts. Gay will be reunited with her parents and beloved sister Dawn her preceded her into Heaven. We learned many valuable lessons from our sweet Gay (Manna) including how to laugh, love, and preserver through the hardest times. We will always love you. -The family of Mrs. Barksdale
