Hortense (Tense) Maxwell Justice, 72 of Lawrenceville, GA, died November 9, 2012. Tense was born August 22, 1940 in Bowman, GA.Tense graduated from Bowman High School with honors and went on to receive her secretarial certificate. On August 17, 1962, she married her husband, of 50 years, Joe C. Justice. She worked as a secretary for several years before taking time off to raise her two children. When her children reached middle school she returned to work part-time for another 20 years before retiring. Tense, a devoted wife and mother, was loved and adored by many. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her children and watching her beloved Atlanta Braves. Tense is survived by her husband, Joe C. Justice of Lawrenceville; daughter, Susan M. Justice of Atlanta; son, James W. Justice of Atlanta and four brothers; Chandler Maxwell of Dewy Rose, Bill Maxwell of Tucker, Louis Maxwell of Dewy Rose and Stuart Maxwell of Snellville; two sisters, Hannah Vines of Marietta and Winona Ginn of Bowman; several nieces and nephews and a number of other family and friends. Tense is preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt C. Maxwell, Sr. and Ada Lou Maxwell and four brothers Pat, Benjamin, Henry, Tom and one sister, Rachel.
