Freda Nester Harris, 96, of Stuart, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Nursing Home.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1915, in Carroll County, Va., to Lee Nester and Almeda Bolt Nester.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd L. Harris; two sons: Ray Harris and Larry Harris; three grandchildren: Sandra Adams, Donnie Harris, and Danny Ray Harris; three sisters: Hattie Tobler, Essie Hall, and Velva Rakes; and a brother, Ham Nester.
She had retired from J.P. Stevens after more than 35 years of service.
Surviving is a daughter, Hilda Sink of Bassett; three sons: Glen Harris of Stuart, Leonard Harris of Meadows of Dan, and Danny Harris of Fieldale; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Burial will be in the New Dan River Primitive Baptist Church cemetery/Lewis family cemetery in Meadows of Dan.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
