Ralph Regan's birthday is unknown. It is accepted as c. 1745. His death is unknown also. His Will was signed 14 Aug 1795 in Robeson Co., NC
Ralph Regan/Reagan/Riggens was an Officer in the American Revolution. His records are spelled Regan and Reagan.
Lt. Ralph Regan is listed on pg. 172 of Roster of the Patriots in the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge complied by Bobby G. Moss; Scotia Hibernia Press 1992.
His Will is on file in the Robeson Co., NC Court Records in WB I pg.39-40, using the spelling of Regan. It was written 14 Aug 1795. The Will was witnessed by his brother, John Regan (1740-1814) also a RWS and his wife, Ala Bennett Regan . John & Ala B. Regan named one of their sons Ralph Regan(Will Bk. I pg154-6 Robeson Co., NC). There are several Ralph Regan's, but this Ralph & Millie Regan never named any of their sons Ralph.
In Ralph Regan's (1745-1795) Will, he names his wife, Millie whose maiden name is unknown. Children of Ralph & Millie Regan are listed in the following order in his Will: Joseph, Samuel, Daniel, Richard, Olive Powers, Sarah Regan, Nancy Regan, Martha Regan. The following is listed according to their birth order as best as can be determined.

(2.) Joseph Regan (1769-1843) m. Sarah Mallory & Sarah McLaughlin

Also named in this Will is Anne Regan. This would most likely be his mother. She was living on the land that Ralph Regan would inherit from her and husband (Ralph's father) Joseph Regan (WB. I pg.578-Bladen Co Court Rec.). On 22 Sept. 1796 (WB. I pg. 44-45) Ann Regan's Will is recorded. Ralph Regan is not named as he died 1795, but she names most of the above grandchildren.
Ralph Regan is listed in the 1781 Bladen Co., NC tax List along with his father, Joseph and 2 brothers John & Richard .
In the 1784 Tax List of Bladen Co., NC, Ralph Regan is listed "for Edw'd Harrison child - 900 acres." This would have been Sarah Ann who later married Jonathan Singletary(1769-1865). Edward Harrison was killed at the Battle of Elizabethtown, NC in 1781.
According to the Colonial & State Records of NC (Vol. 24 pg 838-839), in 1786 an Act for Dividing the County of Bladen was passed by the North Carolina General Assembly. The new county to be created would be named Robeson, honoring its surveyor and RWS of Bladen County, Colonel Robeson. Along with Ralph Regan, 7 other men were appointed Commissioners for running the dividing line between the said countries of Bladen & Robeson. They were:
1. Capt John Willis (whose house at which they would meet until a courthouse could be build. He is considered the founder of Lumberton, NC which would be the county seat). John was a son of Daniel Willis. (One of Daniel's brothers was George Willis(c1730/40-a6 Jul 1817) m. Mary Cain.).
2. Joseph Cain(left Will 29 Dec 1798 Bladen Co., son of Wm(1700-1781).
3. John Regan (c1752-p1814) brother of Ralph
4.David Russ
5. James Council(m. Joanna Willis, sister to Daniel & George Willis).
6. William Grey McDaniel
7. William Moore
In1792, Ralph Regan represented Robeson County as a member of the House of Commons in the NC General Assembly.

The wooden marker has long disappeared from his gravesite. He is buried here with many family members.
