Opal Christine Painter Moore, 84, of Fieldale, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019. She was born June 16, 1935, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Accy and Olie Norman Painter. Opal was a member of The Gathering Place at Critz, Virginia and was faithful to attend church as long as she was able. She was an example of a true Christian who loved unconditionally. She was a faithful servant, loving wife and mother, a devoted sister, the best mother-in-law in the world and made sure everyone felt welcome in her home. She also made sure no one went hungry and was famous for her banana pudding. She even took in several family members over the years including her father, who she cared for until he passed. She was a caregiver at heart and worked as a private duty nurse for a period of time. She also did upholstery work and finally retired from the textile factory, Tultex, after many years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger Lee Moore I; sisters, Catherine P. Grant, and Peggy P. Sims Lemons; brothers, James "Cecil" Painter, and Charles Anthony Painter; and granddaughter Candice Lynne Wall.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her sons; Rick Allen Wall (Teresa), Roger Lee Moore II (Louann), and Kennon "Ken" Brown Moore (Valarie Hokanson); brother, Garlin Isaac Painter; grandchildren, Adrienne Nicole Wall, and Joshua Lee Moore; great-grandchildren, Maximus "Max" Daylan Orion Chitwood, Natalie Elizabeth Moore, and Ella Grace Moore.

The funeral will be Friday, November 15, 2019, at 12:00 noon at The Gathering Place at Critz, 1254 Mill Creek Road, Critz, Virginia with Pastor Susan Adkins officiating.
