JANESVILLE - John K. Kuster, Sr., age 89, of 930 N. Washington St., died Mon., Feb. 28, 1994, at Meadow Park Health Care Center, Clinton. He was born Sept. 3, 1904 in Janesville to the late Eusebius and Sarah (Callahan) Kuster. He married Loretta (Haas) in April 1926; she preceded him in death on June 23, 1956. He had been employed in construction as a concrete and cement finisher and had worked with many of the firms in the area. He had served in the U.S. Army for a brief time during World War I. He was a member of the 32nd Division of the Red Arrow and had also served as their chaplain. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #197. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

John is survived by a son, John K. (Shirley) Kuster Jr.; 4 daughters: Rose Marie (Charles) Peabody, Dorothy (Hugh) Springston, Joan (Albin) Kiselica, and Margaret (Albert) Willie; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and his very special friend, Marge Jacobson. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Eugene and Joseph; 2 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Fri., March 4, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
