OBITUARY


Funeral services for Mrs. James Samek, 67, Wimbledon, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. Boniface Church in Wimbledon. Mrs. Samek died Wednesday.


Rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. in the St. Boniface Church. The body is at the Peterson-Olson Funeral Home in Valley City.


Mrs. Samek, the former Mary Zastoupil, was born March 7, 1902, at Dickinson. She was married to James Samek on July 19, 1922, and the couple farmed at Dickinson until 1943 when they came to Wimbledon community to farm. They retired and moved to town in 1965.


Surviving are her husband; eight sons and six daughters, George, Laudie, Frank, Benny and Bernard Samek and Mrs. Ervine Albrecht (Mary) and Mrs. Taft Cherney (Georgianna), all of Wimbledon; Wensel Samek, Minneapolis; Steven Samek and Mrs. Jean Haugen (Margaret), New Rockford; Vitres Samek, Blue Earth, Minn., Mrs. Joseph Clarys (Mildred) and Mrs. Laudie Cherney (Patricia), both Courtenay; Mrs. Larry Peyerson (Bertha), Devil's Lake; four sisters and a brother, and 60 grandchildren.
