Dorothy Ann Agee Pate, 85, retired from the Walmart Garden Center and resident of Valley Drive, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Edward Anderson officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Witcher Cemetery in the Bagdad Community of Jackson County. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Middle Tennessee (JDRF), 105 Westpark Drive, Suite 415 Brentwood, Tennessee 37027. Notes of condolence may be offered at oakesandnichols.com.
The Jackson County native was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Agee and Vallie Minear Agee. She married Druey Donel Pate on December 12, 1948. Their thirty-eight year marriage ended with his death July 16, 1987. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Roy (Linda Jo) Pate of Columbia; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eleven sisters and brothers.
